The Challenge

This 26-acre brownfield site in West Warwick had long sat vacant due to significant environmental and civil development challenges, including extensive dumping, contamination, and complex terrain that made construction both difficult and expensive.

Our Solution

Revity, in partnership with North Bridge Development, led the effort to remediate and repurpose the site. With an approved remediation plan from the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management (DEM), the team executed a construction strategy designed to contain contaminated materials, minimize environmental disturbance, and reintroduce native vegetation to support biodiversity. Citizens Bank signed on as the project’s virtual net metering offtaker, ensuring a stable long-term beneficiary for the solar generation.

The Impact

The project generated over 50 skilled trade jobs, primarily electrical positions, for Rhode Island residents. It will provide a reliable source of long-term tax revenue for the Town of West Warwick. With annual production expected to exceed 7.5 million kWh, JPM Solar will generate enough clean electricity to power more than 500 homes each year. Local technicians will continue to operate and maintain the system, supporting clean energy jobs in state.
